Some Australian Blasts from the Past

Searching YouTube as I do, I came accross some of these CLASSIC Australian children shows, most of which I loved! Quality ABC childrens shows, unlike the rubbish that is on now. However The graphics are rather plain ;)

Williams Wish Wellingtons

Original and the BEST Play School Opener

Unlike the current, TERRIBLE opener for Play School

Mr Squiggle! - this is a terrific show, who hasn’t seen it!!

Bananas in Pajamas The original and the BEST

Johnson & Friends

Agro’s Cartoon Connection

Hey Hey It’s Saturday!

This was a great memory of the 80’s/90’s. And only in the 80’s could a TV show feature a Man with a Pink ostridge puppet and other random puppets, I love the onscreen graphics, I love the costumes and the PHONE!

The ORIGINAL Blinky Bill - the new one doesn’t even compare!

  1. I LOVED Johnson and Friends as well as that animated one about the Koala guy on that island.

  4. Hi

I live in South Africa. We had two Australian shows running here in the 80’s that were a big hit. I am trying to recall their names.

One may have been called Under the Mountain - it had characters in the show that went by the name of Wilberforce. They had this strange running gait and were aliens i think. Do you know the name of the show?

the other show had a character called Spider who was one a a rival gang of kids. They collected burps and farts in bottles for battles with their rivals. I hope you recall this show?

Please email me with the details to the email attached above. I would greatly appreciate your help.

    regards
