Welcome to the Fraser Coast… thanks to our former Premier, Peter Beattie - the Councils of Hervey Bay, Maryborough, Tiaro and some other smaller towns have now merged as the Fraser Coast Council.
As much as many people think that Hervey Bay, or Maryborough has lost it’s identity, it’s really just the council that has lost its identity. The towns of Hervey Bay and Maryborough will still stay in tact for quite some time. I hope…….
Of course businesses that have used Fraser Coast in their title, as aposed to Hervey Bay, now cover the entire region. Design House Fraser Coast, Fraser Coast Computers, Fraser Coast Fencing, (just the first couple off the top of my head) have made a lucky choice in naming their businesses.
I also help a group of locals with some forums, we set up Hervey Bay forums to start with, however, why not go to Fraser Coast Forums.. I encorage anyone who lives in the region, or interested in it, to atleast sign up and have a chat.. there is already a lively group on there of around 30, and we have more and more people joining. We also have BringBackStrewth in full swing, however now that the election has died, it will be interested to see if the gossip and stories continue to flow through and offend people everywhere.
