The Recent Happenings..
I am the first to admit that I’ve been slack lately with keeping the website up-to-date, it’s a unique time of the year.
We have our labor govt. and interest rates going up (12 times in a row), fuel going up and up, which is causing a much slower business sector. Never the less, I’ve been busy all over the place.
I recently went down to see someone in Toowoomba last weekend, and it’s quite interesting the similarities, and the differences in the Fraser Coast, and somewhere like Toowoomba.
Toowoomba, unlike Hervey Bay has a much larger population, with a lot more development, and sustainable development, more in the professional / commercial sector, rather than motels & resorts. However, unlike the Fraser Coast, Toowoomba has little to no tourism, so the businesses that succeed are generally powered by just the locals.
Toowoomba’s population, unlike the Fraser Coast, is a lot more rural, as Toowoomba services most to the regional town around the South-West of QLD. However, one of the biggest differences I noticed, is that Toowoomba has no 7-day trading!
I remember a few years ago when Hervey Bay was introduced to 7-day trading, now, after living with it for 5 or so years, I don’t know how I could live without it!
It was bizarre to drive through a town where basically everything was shut! Normally use to going out to the shops and doing what ever.
