Oh My Gawd! What’s happened to the Home of Ben May?

Where has the old faithful Green Joomla website gone?!!

Yes, It’s finally time to move on. This has been a project I’ve been wanting to do for quite a long time. The old website that was here was running a really really old version of Mambo (Version 2 I think) and and not been updated since 2004 so it was definitely time to upgrade. I’ve always been skeptical of using the word blog. I’ve always liked to say I actually have a website, not a blog. However, it slowly became more like a blog.

I’ve been working on this website for about 2 weeks now, and as I’ve been so close to finishing it, I haven’t even been working. Shhhh!

As you’d imagine, this website is powered By Wordpress, and I’ve installed about 10 modules / plugins to optimise wordpress.

My Gallery is running from my FlickR profile, so everything sits in this website nicely. I’ve uploaded approximately 1000 images to my FlickR (After buying a pro account for $25 USD) and will upload the remaining images I have all around the place.

You can finally comment on my posts! Yes I’ve had plenty of people say I should allow comments on my old site, but I stuck with my guest book which is such a web 1.0 thing to have, I must admit.

Enjoy the website, and posting should occur here much more often.
