Certified PayPal Developer

logo_developercertgrey_120x91Earlier this year, I was invited to Brisbane to attend one of PayPal’s first “developer days”. A seminar that went for a few hours and covered some of the new things PayPal are doing, some statistics on PayPal as a company, and other handy information for people like myself, who develop applications and assist clients in using online payments, such as PayPal.

After the seminar, you could apply to become a certified PayPal developer – a status you can gain by studying and knowing the in’s and out’s of PayPal’s three primary products, Website Payments Standard (WPS), Express Checkout and PayFlow. After completing all three exams (and passing) I have now been awarded the status of “Certified PayPal Developer”.

Why use a certified PayPal developer?

By choosing to work with a PayPal Certified Developer, you can be confident that your e-commerce integration is in the hands of a professional with demonstrated knowledge of  Website Payments and Express Checkout.

At the time writing this, I am one of only 5 certified PayPal developers in Queensland, and one of 48 in Australia!

You can now find me located in the PayPal Certified Developer directory as well.

  1. Ben,
I know this is out of left field. But why can’t I access Mike Beckham’s site any longer?

  2. Hi there,

Under ‘why choose a certified paypal developer’ your quote mentions website payments pro. I was under the impression that website payments pro isn’t available in Australia.

Am I misinformed? and if not, did paypal give any indication as to when website payments pro will be available in Australia.

    Kind regards,
    Will.

  3. Hi Will

I am mistaken, and you are correct. WP Pro isn’t available, only Standard – that quote from from the US website :)

However I do seem to remember a discussion at the Developer day that they were looking at bringing the Pro features to AU. However, I may be mistaken.
