People Telecom to the rescue!
Back in the day, when ADSL internet was a big deal, I was lucky enough to be told about SwiftDSL, now known as People Telecom by a good friend who is a local dealer and runs Baratel.com.
Since I’ve been a member of People Telecom, I have had the privilege of using a great internet connection that doesn’t drop out, unlike other Telstra customers I know. I also have the satisfaction of not being ripped off, unlike all other Telstra Bigpond customers I know.
People Telecom offers great ADSL plans for home and or business. Their plans are affordable, their quota’s1 are very generous. When you go over their quota limit (as well all do from time to time) the excess fees are very considerate. For example, the worst ISP in Australia, Bigpond, their charge is 15c a mb. People Telecom are 66% Less, at only 5c a megabyte.
The news today however, that is very interesting. That you can now get an 8mb connection on a standard ADSL line. In past years, you’re able to get those speeds on a cable connection, which was not a good idea, due to the very restrictive locations, and exorbitant pricing.
SYDNEY, December 6, 2006 - People Telecom (ASX:PEO / NZX: PEO) today unveiled a suite of new high-speed ADSL broadband services capable of delivering download speeds of up to 8Megabits per second.
People Telecom also announced price drops of $10 per month on its popular 1500 Kilobits per
second Broadband Plans. The release of the competitively priced 8Mbps plans follows finalisation of an agreement with
Telstra. The new higher-speed products are ideally suited to consumers and small businesses
seeking rapid download capability and generous usage quotas. The new Hi-Speed Power 8Mbps/384Kbps plan provides customers with a monthly usage quota of 25 Gigabits for $89.95, while the Hi-Speed Elite 8Mbps/384Kbps plan includes a download quote of 40 Gigabits for $104.95.
So aswell as introducing a new speed standard, nationally. People Telecom have lowered their already low priced 1.5mb connections $10 per plan.
So if you’re on the market for a new internet connection, please consider People Telecom! If you’re after more of a review, I wrote an article a while back, that article can be found here. It is a bit behind, so prices may be out of date, but still accurate today.
Please note that this message has not been paid for. I am in no way connected to People Telecom, apart from being a happy customer!
1 In most ADSL internet connections, you have a limit to what you can download. This is set in data limits. So for example, you may be able to download 500mb in a month, or 20gig a month, depending on the plan.
