ETs Takeaway In Hervey Bay

Talking to someone this morning about a bad lunch I had over the weekend, they said to go blog about it. Driving to work I was weighing it up, and thought that I won’t bother and I’m not really a food critic anyway. I thought I’d write this article, sharing where I have the best lunch every day.

Only around the corner from my office is ET’s Takeaway.  I have been there before years ago for a burger or chips and have always thought of it as a traditional take away store.. that’s Burgers, Chips, anything that’s deep fried basically, and that doesn’t help you when you’re working on computers all day.. I was previously having sandwiches from The Daily Juice van, but that left town last year and wasn’t really convenient for me as I had to pre order each day.

I asked when I was there one day if they made sandwiches, which they said yes to. Before trying it, I thought I might have been getting some bread 2 weeks old or salad that wasn’t really fresh.. thinking that a “typical takeaway” shop wouldn’t be able to make fresh rolls & sandwiches.

Boy was I wrong!

For about 6 months now, I have been walking (when it’s not 100 degrees) or driving over to ET’s for a Ham/Beef/Corn Beef/Chicken Roll with Salad, and not one of them have been un fresh, or stale. Every single thing I have ordered from there has been so tasty and fresh, I love it! When I feel like something really tasty, I order a Chicken Schnitzel burger with bacon and cheese, or a works burger, just as beautiful! Yummm…

If you’re on the run, or close by, grab a feed at ET’s takeaway – I highly recommend them.

  1. Hi Ben

I too have enjoyed the odd snack from ET’s, they sure do a good sandwich. Just thought since I also own a small cafe in Hervey Bay, AND just happen to be a customer of Design House, that you might like to consider our lunches sometime. Our entire menu is available Online (www.VoucherCafe.com.au) where you can place an order, pay securely online (or on delivery with cash)

  2. Hi Kane, thanks for dropping by. I would definitely consider having lunch at your cafe, but I choose ET’s as I can just walk around the corner or 10 seconds in the car and I’m there. If I was down closer to the esplanade, it’d be different :)

  3. No worries Ben. I actually meant to add, that we deliver and your office is in our delivery area, refer to our website for details. When I hit return in the middle of my previous post it posted it, even though I hadn’t finished typing it (damn IE!!!)

If it’s any consolation, your mum get’s her regular coffee from us.
