Strewth it’s Hervey Bay News
I was reading on a Hervey Bay News Blog, about another blogger, based in Hervey Bay who seems to be sharing their opinion to the world about Hervey Bay. They definitely are taking advantage of the internet’s anonymity. As you would expect, the writer of this blog has not mentioned their name, or anything that could trace back to their identity. It wouldn’t surprise me if they used fake / bogus details when creating the blog, should Wordpress trace the writer, they are completely hidden.
Strewth seems to have a focus on news relating the Hervey Bay Council, and Wide Bay Water, two of the towns biggest corporations. The information expressed in the posts, would almost seem that the writer of this blog works within the council, or has some very close connections.
How would one stop such slander on a publicly available service? Well, there aren’t many options available. If Strewth, or anyone using such a service, was to publish something they were not meant to, how could you get it off? Assumingly wordpress would do the right thing and take it off, but that’s not the say a writer didn’t use a more “off shore service”.

My view? Not only is the name a direct steal from a paper ‘down south’ blog, but the need for secrecy about the authors is because they were a front for the just resigned See-ee-oh and a councillor to peddle their less-than-truthful observations about Wide Bay Water, town planning, some parts of the public and certain councillors. If the wino ex- journo and the former, former CEO were to have come clean about who they were at the beginning then much of the howdy doody would never have been taken seriously. Contrary to the claims on strewth, its full of personal agendas, distortions pretending to be truth and all the other fictional characters (the posts) that are associated with such blogs (and those people). Seen one, predict them all!
I suspect that strewth will now die, its served its purpose.
